About the organisation
Myeloma Australia (MA) is the only myeloma specific not-for-profit organisation in the country. We exist to support, inform, empower and bring hope to people living with myeloma, their families, carers, friends and health professionals through our nurse-led model of care.
The organisation was formed in 1998 by a small number of driven people who discovered that a myeloma diagnosis was often slow and uncertain, and that reliable information and access to support was scarce. Today the organisation works to improve the lives of those living with myeloma through raising community awareness, facilitating research, education, support, and advocacy.
MA is determined to raise community awareness of myeloma, and to improving access to the latest treatments, enabling those affected by myeloma to take control of their condition proactively with their health care professionals.
