The Organisation

The National Centre for Action on Child Sexual Abuse is an independent, not-for-profit organisation established to increase understanding of child sexual abuse, promote effective ways for protecting children, guide best practice responses and pathways to healing for survivors, and reduce the harm it causes.

The National Centre is a joint venture between Blue Knot Foundation, The Healing Foundation and the Australian Childhood Foundation with initial funding from the Australian Government. The three organisations have united to form an Australian-first partnership that will commission critical research, evaluate interventions and therapeutic programs, raise community awareness, reduce stigma and provide training.

The National Centre will give voice to the experiences of survivors of all ages, life stages and communities. It will work in collaboration with survivors, major research institutions, representatives from state and commonwealth governments, service providers, schools, and law enforcement agencies.

The Role

In this role you will manage the finance, business operations and corporate responsibilities of the National Centre.  This role will position the Centre to deliver on its contractual and operational obligations, while ensuring responsive and strategic systems are in place to monitor and continually improve quality, performance and exceed financial targets to drive sustainability and growth.
This role is key to streamlining the policies, systems and processes within a robust financial framework and relevant standards to support the National Centre to meet and exceed its strategic objectives. Other responsibilities in this role include;

  • Developing, implementing and managing the financial framework, models and budgeting
  • Leading the delivery of human resource services for the National Centre
  • Manage administrative, physical and facilities’ resources to meet requirements of a virtual Centre
  • Develop strategies and execute the implementation, maintenance and upgrades of technology and data management
  • Establish and implement policies, protocols and guidelines across the organisation.

Skills Required

You will have demonstrated ‘hands-on’ leadership experience and extensive involvement with an NGO/charity in a financial and operational management role. Demonstrated experience in managing organisational budgets and financial affairs to meet accounting standards and financial frameworks is essential for this role.

You will also possess:

  • Strategic planning, facility and resource management experience
  • Strong financial and budget management, reporting and analytical skills
  • Understanding of human resources and personnel management
  • Strong IT, data, quality and risk management skills
  • Proven change management skills and the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment
  • Innovative thinking with demonstrated capability to work with others to problem solve
