Competitive salary package $90k – $110k + Super + Salary sacrificing

Locations available – Darwin, Melbourne & Brisbane
As the Senior Therapeutic Case Manager, you will be delivering frontline trauma-informed, person centred and culturally safe services to clients working within a multidisciplinary team. This is a key role in supporting a mix of clients who majority identify as Aboriginal and Torres strait Islander in a trauma- informed way who have been impacted by child sexual assault. You will be helping all survivors of child sexual abuse navigate their legal options.

Core Responsibilities

  • Providing crisis and short-term counselling and support for clients through telephone and face to face services, responding to a high level of client requests
  • Supporting clients within a multidisciplinary teams and service delivery model.  You would be working alongside lawyers, intake staff, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Engagement Advisors and administration staff. Where you will provide information and supported referral assistance to clients to access other services.
  • Delivering outreach services where required which may include home visits and legal advice clinics
  • Delivering presentations including community education sessions about sexual assault and child abuse and share information about the organisations model of care
  • Working alongside the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse
  • Working within the management team including working effectively with the Manager of Support Services, and the Regional Client Services Manager

Qualifications & Selection Criteria

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or Counselling or equivalent including current membership with a relevant professional body
  • 3-5 years or more relevant work experience, with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in counselling service provision
  • A well-developed understanding of institutional child sexual abuse, its impacts and current best practice approaches to working effectively with survivors
  • Experience working in trauma-informed, multidisciplinary services and teams
  • An understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander peoples and, ideally experience in providing culturally safe services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients
  • Current working with children checks and national police check or willing to obtain
  • Fully up to date with your Covid vaccinations
