About the role
Some examples of what this role is responsible for include:
- Recruitment and management of women from surgical lists, private surgeons’ referrals, surgical waiting lists, gynaecology clinics and community interest.
- Contacting suitable candidates.
- Liaising with clinical and operating theatre staff to identify suitable candidates.
- Regular liaison with scientists.
- Tissue collection.
- Delivery of samples to appropriate laboratories.
- Development of SOPs for Research Nurse Tissue collection.
- Collection and documentation.
SELECTION CRITERIA
The role will suit someone who is:
- Excellent communication skills
- Database management skills
- Time management skills
- The ability to travel between relevant hospital locations
- Ability to collaborate with other research nurse staff to maximise tissue collection opportunities
- Must have own care with comprehensive insurance and valid driver’s licence.
Qualifications desired
- Registered nurse Division I or II
- Current practicing certificate
- Degree in nursing/midwifery from a recognised university
- Research experience and advantage
- Phlebotomy skills
- GCP certification
EMPLOYMENT TERMS
This position is a casual role. Salary is based on ANMF agreement classification RN G3A Y1 Research. Superannuation of 11%.
No weekends or public holidays.
