Living Gifts- A Partnership With Bite!

When the Animis Foundation – Zoos Victoria was looking for an online retailer to help advance their mission, they found Wishlist.com.au and today have developed what they describe as a unique partnership and one with bite!

The Living Gift program was launched very recently on Wishlist.com.au’s website offering a chance to adopt an animal and within half an hour of going on-line some 150 people clicked to find out more.

The partnership offers online adoption of an animal in any of Victoria’s Zoos, from an Asian Elephant to a Hippo, and from a Bilby to a Meercat.

Established in 2003, the Animis Foundation encompasses all Zoos Victoria’s sponsorship activities, which offers a range of opportunities for becoming involved. Its aim is to build enduring relationships between people and wildlife for a future in which humans live in balance with the natural world.

Corporate Sponsorship Manager, Cate Rejman says in looking for the right online corporate partner they wanted a business that had the same target audience and a clean user friendly site.

Rejman says the partnership is a new experience for both Wishlist.com.au and the Foundation and they are both learning and growing into the arrangement.

She says however discussions about what each party wanted to achieve from the partnership took just six weeks to complete describing Wishlist.com.au as great to deal with.

She says the adoption program has been launched in October to allow time for the program to ‘settle in’ and to iron out any issues before the Christmas gift-giving season.

Zoos Victoria sees about 1.5 million visitors a year and Wishlist.com.au is now celebrating its fifth year as an online gift service in Australia.
