Church App Offers ‘Legend Husband’

A Baptist Church Pastor in Sydney has developed a new age App he declares gives men an idea of what their wives really need – in a bid to save Australian marriages.

The brainchild of the Pastor at the Camden Baptist Church in Sydney, Rev Mark Reilly has named his App ‘Legend Husband’.

Rev Reilly says he has spent many years working with couples in pre-marriage and marriage counselling as well as facilitating marriage enrichment seminars.

I’ve found that couples these days need tools to help them make their marriage last, because 50% of them are crashing.

“We have to do something different and help men in particular, put an effort into saving their marriages.

“I am hoping they will be prepared to spend 99 cents towards saving their marriages,” he said referring the cost of the new App via iTunes.

He says Legend Husband combines his counselling work knowledge and experience, with some fun!

Rev Reilly admits he had to take out a loan with his parents to help fund the development of the App.

“As well I informed the Baptist Deakin about my plans who are 100% behind it.”

Rev Reilly says says the idea grew from a discussion at a party. “I joked I needed an app when we discovered that none of the men in the group knew their wife’s shoe or clothing size, much to their wives horror.

“The idea took shape plus I was able to use all the stuff I’ve done wrong over the past 18 years of my own marriage!”

With a place to record important dates (birthdays and anniversaries), an argument referee and a ‘Love Language Discovery link’, he says Legend Husband takes the guesswork out of keeping your partner happy.

“With the argument referee you change the colour of the screen when it’s your time to talk, so while the screen is pink, it’s her turn, while it’s blue it’s his. Everyone gets to say their piece, uninterrupted, without having to shout over their partner.

“Legend Husband has a video feature so you can record your wife telling you
how much she loves you- then when things are crazy, you can replay it and it will help calm you down,” Rev Reilly said.

“Also you can video record any decisions, dreams or goals that you have made
together, which all helps keep the fires stoked.

“We all spend time and money making sure our cars run smoothly, but many people hesitate to do the same for their marriage.

We recently reviewed the leading mental health apps on our blog. But we couldn’t find any for marriage or relationship skill development. Nicely done!! Fills a gap in the market which is so important.
