About the role
Woodbine Neighbourhood Centre trading as Neighbourhood Hub Macarthur (NHM) is seeking applications to fill volunteer Board positions.
Applicants should have experience and / or knowledge of the not-for-profit sector.
What is expected of Board Directors
- Attend the Board meeting at Woodbine Neighbourhood Centre on the third Wednesday of each month (or via zoom if unable to attend face-to-face meetings). Meetings are held during the day, starting at 12.30pm, for approximately 1 and 2 hours.
- Review Manager’s reports and other documents ahead of each Board meeting
- Provide strategic leadership and governance
- Contribute to decision making and provide advice in your area/s of expertise
About the organisation
is a not-for-profit community-based organisation managed by Board of Directors elected by NHM’s members.
NHM has been providing services to the Macarthur region for 39 years. Founded in 1983 to provided community services for the new housing development within Woodbine where there were no existing services. NHM become a registered charity in 2018.
NHM is funded by Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) under Targeted Earlier Intervention funding. NHM also manages a mobile childcare service, Macarthur Care Pair which is funded by NSW Education Department under Strong Start funding.
NHM supports community members via various recreational or education programs / activities to assist them to increase their participation in community life, along with focusing on supporting inclusiveness, and strengthening cohesive communities within the Macarthur regions.
