About the role

The award winning Art2Herat program has been successfully running for several years by local organisation JCI eastern. It a wonderful program for primary school aged students in the South Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne at no cost to families.
A variety of different art forms are taught by local professional artist over 4 weeks during 2-hour session on Saturday. The program concludes with an art exhibition and present ceremony for friends and family allowing students to display their creative endeavours made during the session.
We invite you to join the team in organising this event as our Artist Liaison. Your responsibilities include contacting and liaising with local artist to ensure our art session fun, informative and allow our students to experience a new art practice in a safe and encouraging environment. You will also curate and display the student artworks in a final session, create the presentation slideshow, certificates and take quality photographs of both our students and their unique creation during the sessions. These photographs will also be feature in a mini folio which will be presented to students. You may also like to find gallery spaces in the local area to display the student artwork and to further promote this wonderful program.
JCI Eastern is a local chapter of Junior Chamber International and run a collection of programs throughout the year. JCI’s mission statement is “To give young people the tools they need to build the bridges of success and create genuine positive change. To plan and action community service and development projects for the betterment of our local communities”. JCI eastern provides opportunities for personal growth and development and the opportunity to be a positive influence on the local, national and international community can be yours.
