About the role

The Port Environment Centre (PEC), based in Port Adelaide South Australia, is seeking an Auditor for 2020-21. The Centre’s overall budget in 20-21 is approximately $100K.

PEC is a community based environment centre established in early 2019 and incorporated in June 2020. PEC is registered with ACNC. For its initial 18 months of operation PEC functioned under the auspices of KESAB environmental solutions.

PEC’s core funding (approx $76K pa) is provided by Green Adelaide (Department for the Environment) enabling the employment of a p/t Coordinator (3 days/wk) plus provide operating and some programming costs.

PEC’s premises are provided rent free by Renewal SA.

In 2020-21 PEC will also work closely with the City of Port Adelaide Enfield through a $25K Community Partnership grant. The grant aims to extend the reach of PEC to new residents and to extend opening hours, by employing a p/t Project Officer (9hrs/wk).

The Centre operates it finances using Xero and engages Handley Accounting Services for part time accounting and bookkeeping support.
