About the role
Our markets offer choice and nutrition in a dignified setting, creating inclusive and vibrant gathering spaces that ensure fruit and vegetables are socially and economically accessible to everyone in the community.
In 2020 we saw an unprecedented demand for our services and The Community Grocer responded quickly and efficiently. Our ability to respond to the COVID crisis and ensure people had access to fresh high-quality produce has ha significant impact on local communities. The Community Grocer has reached a significant growth phase; securing recent funding to deliver our impact has enabled us to appoint a full-time CEO and re-structure the board accordingly. A newly endorsed strategic plan will shape the growth, organisational sustainability, impact and influence of The Community Grocer over the next three years.
The Community Grocer is looking to appoint a Chair who is equally passionate about the right to food and the role it can play in improving community health and who wants to make a difference in addressing the physical, economic and social barriers to fresh food access
