About the role

Expressions of Interest (EOI):  Auburn Youth Centre Board Director

Auburn Youth Centre Inc. (AYC) is an independent non-profit organisation creating pathways to success for young people aged 12-24i n Western Sydney. Due to 3 recent casual vacancies we are recruiting motivated and experienced Directors to join our Board and advance our thirty year track-record of change making in the community.

AYC is located in Wyatt Park in the Cumberland LGA. Our area is one of the most cultural diverse in Sydney and  experiences high levels of socio-economic disadvantage. We strive towards the vision of a connected community where all young people can pursue their dreams and fulfil their potential.

Our programs and activities include drop-in services, counselling, casework, educational outreach to local schools, music and arts programs, sports and community events. In 2018 we launched our own onsite café and training kitchen, which provides free hospitality training to young jobseekers. This year we have been broadening our influence across NSW through online programming and support.

You will have the opportunity to make a true difference as a Board Director at AYC. Key strategic directions driven by the AYC Board include the development of new social enterprises, revenue growth and diversification, creation of partnerships in the NGO and corporate sectors and the development of policies and procedures.

We are seeking EOIs to join the Board from people who can get hands-on and commit 8-10 hours per month to the organisation.
