About the Role
Our organisation is seeking a skilled individual to be our representative and a director on the board of the national body – ME/CFS Australia Ltd. You will be working closely with us to represent our organisation’s needs and contributions to advocacy and awareness, and therefore those of the WA patient community. Individuals with corporate or nonprofit experience in fundraising, marketing, strategic growth and networking will be highly favoured.
Since 1997, our charity has supported those in Western Australia with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and now also Lyme disease. We are an unfunded and all-volunteer-run organisation.
This position is an unpaid pro bono or volunteer position. You will be contributing to helping us make a difference in the lives of others, while gaining career experience, and may also receive a Letter of Recommendation to assist you in your future career aspirations.
Hours are estimated to be 5 to 10 hours per month and there are no set working hours except for attendance at each board meeting. Board meetings are conducted via conference call.
Working with us to represent what is best for our charity and our patient community here in Western Australia.
Expanding advocacy and awareness of ME/CFS in Australia at the national level.
Attending board meetings and abstaining from conflicts of interest.
Providing reports and summaries to us and keeping open lines of communication.
Carrying out our vote at the AGM.
Good governance skills.
Strategic planning skills.
Adhering to legislation and ASIC and ACNC requirements.
