About the role
Our charity is looking for someone to join our board and contribute to governance and fundraising.
We recruit for board members on an ongoing basis with terms for 12 months, and applications accepted year round.
Individuals with experience in advocacy and fundraising are especially sought.
Since 1997, our charity has supported those in Western Australia with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and now also Lyme disease (and the Lyme-like illness we have in Australia). We are an unfunded and all-volunteer-run organisation, so building capacity is currently part of our board’s role.
This position is an unpaid position. You will be contributing to helping us make a difference in the lives of others, and may also receive a Letter of Recommendation to assist you in your future career aspirations.
WHAT IS INVOLVED?
A board role includes the following time commitment:
- Prepare for board meetings
- Attend board meetings (online attendance is possible)
- Follow good governance and adhere to all duties and obligations
- Engage in board-level conversations and decision making
In addition to the above, board members are expected to contribute to fundraising and development.
Located in Nedlands on the SCGH grounds. Centre for Neurological Support, The Niche, 11 Aberdare Road, Nedlands WA 6009.
We are disability-friendly and therefore can accommodate remote-based volunteering for those located elsewhere in WA or interstate.
To apply please email your application (both a cover letter and CV) to email@example.com using the subject line: Board member pro bono website ad 2021
We look forward to hearing from you.
