About the role
Are you someone that has an interest or experience in the mental health sector?
We are looking for people from all walks of life to join our Board to champion the role of creative prescription in mental health and support our small organisation as it continues to grow rapidly, with a national reach.
Our Board currently has four members and we are actively recruiting for a fifth. We recognise that mental health is experienced by the whole community and we want to ensure that our Board represents the diverse community we serve.
We strongly welcome applicants from First Nations, culturally diverse, disability and d/Deaf, and/or marginalised communities.

About the organisation
MakeShift is one of Australia’s first creative prescribing agencies, and our model of Creative First Aid is offering a dynamic, innovative intervention in the mental health space across the country.
Based in Woonona, Wollongong NSW with a national reach, MakeShift is a non-profit organisation managed by a voluntary Board, a part-time team of 5, plus a core team of contracted artists and creatives.
Organisational income is derived from ticketed courses, corporate and organisational contracts, and government grants and funding, including the Sidney Myer Foundation, NSW Recovery Boost, icare NSW Foundation, and Create NSW.
A world where people use delight and creativity to nourish the health and wellbeing of
themselves and others.
We are a team dedicated to educating adults around mental health and wellbeing. We do
this by offering programmes, events and training that have delight, wonder and curiosity
at their core. We believe creativity is a vital prescription for health, and in the agency of
the individuals to manage their own wellbeing.
