About iDareU
iDareU is a wonderful grassroots charity that supports people with a disability and their families to become connected in their local communities. iDareU supports and helps people with disabilities and their families navigate all things to do with the NDIS, fulfils advocacy requirements and provides any practical guidance needed.

iDareU’ s Mission is to assist people with a disability to lead a fulfilled and inclusive life through guidance, support, education, and training.

iDareU’s Objectives are to ensure quality NDIS experiences, deliver individualised support, workshops and events.

The Board
The role of the Board is to provide strategic guidance and direction for iDareU as well as oversee effective governance and the risk management framework for the organisation. The Board is the guardian of the mission of iDareU to deliver personalised support improving the lives of people with a disability and their carers.

The Board of iDareU meet every month and there are a number of Board Sub-Committees. It is expected that each Director will sit on at least 2 Sub-Committees as well as any working groups formed from time to time.

The Role
An opportunity has arisen for two (2)-three (3) Board members to join the highly experienced and skill based Board of Directors of iDareU with particular focus on candidates who have a background in:
1. Marketing/ communications/ media/ branding;
2. Business technology (IT) person; and/or
3. Person who is a carer or has a child or family member with a disability.

To be successful in the role you will have experience in senior leadership. It is not a requirement to be based in Melbourne, Sydney or any other state. Candidates with experience in a not for profit or disability sector would be desirable but not essential, you will need to be able to commit to a minimum of 12 months – preferably 24 months.

Remuneration
This is a volunteer position and no remuneration is payable.
