Expressions of Interest: Auburn Youth Centre Board Member

Auburn Youth Centre Inc. (AYC) is an independent charitable organisation governed by a Board of Directors. With a vision of “Creating an harmonious community where all young people belong and have the opportunity to fulfil their dreams” AYC has provided social, educational, recreational and counselling services for young people aged 12 to 24 living in the Cumberland LGA for over 30 years. AYC programs aim to address issues confronting young people including social and economic disadvantage, trauma, displacement, cultural identity and stereotyping

AYC is presently seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) to fill casual vacancies on the Board of Directors. Key strategic directions being driven by the AYC Board presently include diversification of revenue streams, the development of enduring partnerships in the NGO and corporate sectors, creation of employment pathways and the upgrade of the facility. With these directions in mind AYC are seeking people with skills and experience in one or more of the following areas;
– Marketing / advertising
– Accountancy / financial Management
– Media / social media / journalism
– Training and registered training compliance
– Fundraising
– High end business negotiation

This is a great opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young people living in one of the most socially disadvantaged areas in Sydney by giving 8-10 hours of your time each month. To reflect our community demographics we strongly encourage people newly arrived in Australia and those of CALD background living or working in and around the Cumberland LGA to apply.
