About the role
Music for Canberra (MfC) is a not-for-profit organization that offers individual and group instrumental tuition, orchestral groups including the Canberra Youth Orchestra and James McCusker Orchestra; choirs including the Canberra Children’s Choir (est.1967) and Seasoned Voices (awarded the Age Friendly Canberra award in the 2019 Positive Aging Awards), ensembles for youth & adults; and a large program of music classes for people living with disability. MfC receives financial support from the ACT Government as a key arts organization.
Our mission:
With a commitment to music education and live performance, Music for Canberra provides access to high quality, inspiring, innovative and diverse musical experiences for people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities, particularly in the ACT and surrounding regions.
MfC is seeking 1-2 board members, preferably with experience in disability sector management and/or finance. The regular time commitment is one evening meeting per month and 2-3 hours per month to consider out-of-session items.
