About the role
The WASH House is a community based resource centre for women in the Blacktown LGA. Our aim is to reduce the impact of poverty, social disadvantage and violence on the lives of women in the local community. Our advocacy, support and capacity building services are feminist, trauma informed and strengths based.
Our values are
We are seeking enthusiastic, experienced and skilled women to express an interest in joining our Board. To complement our existing Board, we are looking for individuals with one or more of the following skillsets:
- Finance management
- Risk and Compliance
- Fundraising and income generation
- Strategic communications, media and marketing
We warmly welcome women of all ages and encourage participation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island women and those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. The WASH House is a Safe Place for lesbian and gender diverse women.
The WASH House Board provides governance and strategic leadership to the organisation. The Board meets ten times per year on average with active sub-committees as required (recruitment for example). Applicants should have the ability to commit around 6 hours per month to duties.
