About the Role
MCWH is currently seeking a talented woman who is passionate about our organisation and has finance and risk expertise to join our Board.
WHO WE ARE
The Multicultural Centre for Women’s Health (MCWH) is a national women’s health organisation committed to improving the health and wellbeing of immigrant and refugee women around Australia.
MCWH is run by and for immigrant and refugee women. We are a national voice for women from both emerging and established migrant communities, including refugees and asylum seekers.
MCWH is based in Victoria and promotes the wellbeing of immigrant and refugee women through advocacy, research, training and multilingual health education and information.
MCWH reaches thousands of immigrant and refugee women each year through health information sessions delivered in women’s preferred languages.
MCWH also brings attention to relevant issues for immigrant women’s health and wellbeing through research, partnerships, consultation, providing input into policy and building capacity among service providers and policy makers.
JOINING OUR BOARD
Board members are appointed for a period of up to two years with the opportunity for reappointment after the two year period. We are currently seeking a woman with:
• demonstrated skills in financial management and risk;
• demonstrated commitment to social justice;
• passion for immigrant and refugee women’s health and wellbeing;
• capacity and willingness to apply specific skills and expertise to the implementation of Board responsibilities;
• capacity to commit to attendance at 6-weekly Board meetings, and related activities and events.
Ideally, we are seeking a woman from an immigrant and refugee background or someone who has a strong connection to, immigrant and refugee communities.
