Business Support Officer

Our client is a not-for-profit organisation that develops and leads key initiatives that continuously improves the capacity, integrity and independence of those they serve.

They are currently on the search for a Business Support Officer to provide front line operational accounting services to the organisation. This is a pivotal role and will require someone that is an experienced and self driven individual with highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.

Key duties will include:
• Accounts payable, receivable, payroll preparation and employee reimbursements
• Preparation of quotations, POS and invoices
• Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, processing of general journal accrual transactions and Reckon Data entry
• Monitor corporate financial and management performance and interpret accounts to management
• Efficiently manage resources within budget guidelines and in accordance with legislation
• Preparation of statutory accounts for audit and assist auditors on an annual basis
To succeed in this role you will have a minimum of 3 years experience in bookkeeping or accounting, ideally with a degree or certificate in Business Administration, Bookkeeping, Accounting or similar.

Experience and a strong understanding of Excel and macros is essential as well as a genuine appreciate and respect for the Aboriginal culture and the ability to learn and adapt within new environments.

Experience with Reckon and working within the non-for-profit sector is highly desirable.
