About the role
Unique opportunity to Spanish speaking Financial or Management Accountant (CPA/CMA) to use their skills in an international development setting.
Background
Based in Chile’s capital city, Santiago, in a valley surrounded by the snow-capped Andes and the Chilean Coast Range, our partner is an international organisation working with local partners in Chile to enable women to make their own choices & access vital sexual & reproductive health services. The organisation provide family planning services focusing on supporting and providing mostly free care to underserved and impoverished areas including: contraception, gynaecological examinations and sexual health counselling. The organisation also works to build the capacity of teachers to provide sexual education for students on gender equality, human rights and sexual diversity.
Your Role
Your role will start with an assessment of their accounting & financial management systems, making and implementing recommendations on best practice based on the complexity of their finances, the resources available to the organisation and skillset of the local staff.
You will also:
1. Evaluate the technical capabilities of the accounting / financial / administrative system with a view to implementing OpenEMR.
2. Review of the manual of policies and procedures of the accounting / financial / administrative area.
3. Review of cost recovery policies, creation of reserves, and risk management.
4. Develop capacity in the local team in evaluating the financial health of the organization.
