About the Role
Community Information Glen Eira (CIGE) contributes to a more caring and supportive community where residents have equality of access to information and services available. As a community based organisation, established for over 45 years we aim to meet needs through provision of relevant information, referral and where appropriate, material aid. Our free, confidential service is provided in a caring, and impartial manner by trained local volunteers.
We are seeking new, independent & skilled committee members to take us through a challenging period of change and renewal in a range of roles:
Office Bearer – Secretary
The Secretary is primarily responsible for the documentation and communication of all CIGE activities. The role includes the preparation of detailed agendas, recording minutes, circulating accurate minutes, receiving and disseminating correspondence, compiling the annual report, and completing legislative reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative and communication skills.
CIGE is seeking ordinary committee members with particular skill-sets and experience in the following areas:
• Fundraising – working with local clubs, businesses, philanthropy and all levels of government to increase the funding for the organisation to deliver enhanced, holistic services for the community. Experience in grant writing is required.
• Marketing – developing a marketing plan to raise the profile of the organisation and its work in the community using a variety of tools.
• Legal – to assist the committee and organisation understands and adheres to all legal responsibilities relating to an incorporated association and a charity with DGR status.
