Organisation : Engineers Without Borders
Location : International (Tibar, Timor-Leste )
Time required : Full time
Duration of project : 13 months
Sector : Education & Training, Humanitarian, Overseas Aid & Development
About the role
The engineering and construction industry in Timor-Leste is still in development phase, and many companies and infrustructure projects still rely on sourcing skilled labourers from neighbouring countries as there is a skilled labour shortage in the country. This is due to limited options for quality education and training needed to cultivate a highly-skilled workforce including engineers, trades people and other technical professionals. This placement contributes to addressing this challenge and aims to enhance employment pathways for young Timorese in construction trades.
Centro Nacional de Emprego e Formacao Profissional (CNEFP) promotes and delivers quality vocational training in Timor-Leste, primarily in the construction sector. CNEFP’s reputation has grown rapidly in recent years (it is a nationally accredited Centre of Excellence) and their goal is to maintain its high standards as a training provider.
Use your practical engineering or construction skills and passion for education to support CNEFP trainers in enhancing their construction and vocational training courses, to develop and deliver high quality and practical training for local students. Being flexible and adaptable is a must!
