About the role

The Role:

We are recruiting for a fabulous opportunity for a Content Manager to work in a great team environment from the office based in Blackburn.   The main purpose of this role is to produce, edit and manage high quality content for MS’ internal and external channels.  You will be responsible for the production of MS’ printed and written publications (internally & externally), including a quarterly magazine and the annual report.  This includes managing key relationships with designers, printers and advertisers.

Your Responsibilities:

Working in the Strategic Marketing and Fundraising Department and reporting to the Senior Manager, Services Marketing & Communications, you will also be responsible for overseeing and growing the organisations’ story bank.  Additionally, you will provide editorial assistance and be the main gatekeeper for the MS style guide and brand guidelines.  Other key areas of responsibility include:

  • Planning, writing and editing external publications, including interviewing story sources, writing content and editing it for use across the platform
  • Ensuring that communications reflect style and brand guidelines, and assist staff with this when necessary
  • Providing editorial, proof reading and production advice to team members
  • Taking photos of staff and events as required
  • Managing relationships with external agencies such as designers, printers and advertisers to ensure that publications and collateral are produced in a high quality and timely manner
  • Developing good working relationships with members of the MS community
  • Developing positive relationships with other team member inside the organisation to generate story ideas, understand research, produce and curate content

Your capabilities:

To be successful in this role we are looking for someone who:

  • Excellent writing skills and attention to detail
  • Strong knowledge of the English language, including grammar and spelling
  • Ability to translate complex content into lay terms
  • Ability to tell a story through writing and understand how to write for different audiences
  • Knowledge of editorial and production processes including concept development and planning
  • Experience in using content creation platforms to generate EDM’s and newsletters
  • Ability to multitask and meet competing deadlines
  • Ability to work autonomously on large projects

Your Qualifications:

You will need to have a qualification in Communications, Marketing or Journalism with 3+ years’ experience in a similar role.

 Your salary:

This is a full-time fixed term contract for 12 months, and offers an attractive salary commensurate with your experience, + super + a generous tax-free salary packaging option (which means more in your take home pay), as well as the opportunity to work within a high profile, highly respected, not-for-profit Australian organisation.

Please note: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a National Police Check, possibly an International Police Check, a Working with Children Check and a Working with Vulnerable People Check.
