Overview
The International Youth Federation is an international non-profit youth organizations network governed by the present Statutes and the Swiss Civil Code. It is neutral politically, and non-denominational, aim to empowering youth worldwide.

Reporting to the Head of Press Operations, the Digital Web Editor will support IYF’s online and digital presence across the official websites and social media channels. She/he will be responsible for the creation English digital content, editing English content, assist in managing IYF website content and leading the digital content strategy, to achieve dynamic and active online presence (website and social media) that communicates effectively to target audiences and reflecting the IYF goals in bringing youth communities together.

Mission Statement:
To voluntarily represent, positively promote, and uphold the mission of “Empowering youth for better world” in various programs and opportunities throughout the IYF interventions and the community.

Responsibilities:
(A) Supporting web management:
• Maintain the IYF Newsroom with written and multimedia content that is clear, concise, vivid, and conveys key messages to target audiences on the Web. Liaise with IYF staff in the field to obtain inputs that vividly convey the work to ensure that all content is timely, accurate and compelling.
• Assume the quality control function of all material that is uploaded to the IYF websites.
• Regularly review website content, design and functionality to ensure updates are reflected; make recommendations to improve design and functionality and ensure quality implementation.
• Manage and lead the production of In Focus packages, whenever needed.

(B) Editing and copywriting:
• Review, edit and/or proofread web content and submissions by Country teams and HQ departments for publishing.
• Write, edit and review IYF online communication materials in English.
• Refine written content to adapt it to digital channels and general audiences.
• Regularly prepare and edit new web content posting it to the IYF websites.
• Ensure consistency and quality of language.
• Work closely with content creators to ensure that manuscripts are of high quality, well prepared and meet organizational expectations.
Support digital content strategy:
• Lead the conceptualization of the IYF digital strategy; elaborate digital content strategy and participate in content planning.
• Produce content policies and standards to create, organize, record, and post content, including editorial guidelines based on IYF corporate editorial guidelines; establish unified content guidelines and policies across the IYF’s digital assets that are aligned with the our objectives and goals.
• Facilitate the creation of content elements.
• Provide support to country offices on the production of web materials; advise on social media and digital strategies; mentor other digital and social content developers on the team.
• Establish a process and work flow to develop digital content.

Core Competences:
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey messages and develop content that is creative, compelling and reflective of real life stories.
• Fluency in English is mandatory.
• Familiarity with online publishing and knowledge of online social networking required.
• Strong coordination skills, good time management and results oriented;
• Superior written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey complex development concepts and recommendations in a clear and persuasive manner that is tailored to a range of audiences.
• Meticulous copy-editing skills and a rigorous eye for content and grammatical accuracy.
• Proficient in the use of computers and office software packages.

Functional Competencies:
• Ability to lead and manage communication work plans.
• Excellent computer, internet, social media and information system skills.

Eligibility:
• Highly interest in youth empowerment, youth issues.
• Relevant experience in journalism/media/press/linguistics or communication is required.

Skills Required For Position:
• Excellent writing/editing and verbal communication skills.
• Sincere commitment to work collaboratively with all constituent groups, including staff, members, volunteers and other supporters.
• Ability to interact cordially and communicate with a diverse community.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Experience:
Experience and results preferred at national level preferred in communication of language role, development, blogging, youth issues, sport, women empowerment, youth-led organizations or other relevant field.

Language:
Fluency in English with superior drafting skills is essential.
