About the role

Join the Abbotsford Convent Foundation Board.

Abbotsford Convent Foundation (ACF) are currently recruiting for two new Directors to join our Board.

Just four kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD and spread over 16 acres, Abbotsford Convent is Australia’s largest multi-arts precinct—a place of art, culture and learning.

Renowned for its rich history, its striking built and natural landscapes, and the remarkable community-led campaign to preserve it from commercial development, the site was enshrined on Australia’s National Heritage List in 2017. Today, this nationally and internationally unique precinct is managed by the Abbotsford Convent Foundation (ACF), a not-for-profit, social enterprise limited by guarantee under the Corporations Act and registered with the ACNC.

The Convent is home to a vibrant creative community, wellbeing practitioners, galleries, cafes, a radio station, a school, and an abundance of green open space. Every year the Convent curates and also welcome over 2,000 art projects, rehearsals, workshops, exhibitions, events, markets and festivals.

As the ACF movies into an exciting new phase, we are seeking two new Directors. In particular we are looking for candidates with skills in marketing and communications, hospitality, or landscape/environmental sustainability. It is also desirable for candidates to have experience serving on not-for-profit boards and committees and/or to have experience in arts and culture.

Abbotsford Convent is committed to equity and inclusion and welcomes applications from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, people of all abilities, and people from LGBTQIA+ communities.

Please refer to the Position Description for more information about the role.
