About the role
Do you want to make a difference to help women and children in domestic violence? We are looking for passionate and dedicated volunteers to assist with our new volunteer team. To provide extended support to women and children who have been affected by domestic/family violence who currently reside in either our refuge or one of our secure residential properties.
The program aims to support the needs of children who are unable to access private tuition and to give them the confidence to learn and further study in mainstream schooling.
The position will involve either one-on-one tutoring or with small groups of 4-6 students. You must be able to assist with the assessments/tasks given, be able to work as a team and individually. School holiday programs are available working with our facilitators.
Ideally the volunteers would be able to spare a few hours each month as an ongoing commitment or would welcome a couple of hours during each school holidays.
