Event volunteers help out at events / functions when they are available (this could involve helping at a music festival for the day, helping in the morning at the farmers market or at a night time fundraising dinner). The time you volunteer depends solely on your availability.
Event Volunteers are people that are willing to help in any way they can at ShelterBox displays, festivals, stalls and events in your local area. Event Volunteers may be called upon to assist with annual music events, one off fundraising events like film or trivia nights, or to fundraise during a major disaster time. Event Volunteer have lots of fun and meet a range of people in this role.
Requirements and qualifications
•Have enthusiasm for supporting local ShelterBox events/activities
•Keen to spread the word and rallying support within your community
• Willingness to learn about ShelterBox’s mission and operations
• Complete the volunteer application process
•The ability to work within a team
•Able to respond quickly after a disaster (e.g.let your networks know about the disaster and the opportunity to donate, share information through your networks via email or social media)
Event Volunteer Expectations
•Event Volunteers are part of a larger ShelterBox team and work with other ShelterBox volunteers (Area Coordinator, Ambassadors, ShelterBox Advocates and Fundraisers).
• Respond to requests from the Volunteer Program Manager or Area Coordinator for
assistance at local events, displays, demonstrations, festivals, activities
•Stay informed about ShelterBox, its operations, and deployments (emails, newsletters, Facebook, blogs, and videos are available to support you in this)
•Activate in times of disaster by sharing updates and donation pages
• Spread the word about the great work of ShelterBox in your community to assist in raising awareness and funds
