About the role
Girl Guides Victoria is part of a world-wide movement of more than ten million Girl Guides and Girl Scouts operating in over 140 countries.
We are a progressive, voluntary organisation helping girls and young women to develop into confident, self-respecting and responsible community members by providing a values-based, flexible and dynamic non-formal educational program. We believe that when curious, clever girls are free to revel in all their possibilities, the world opens up. We’re for girls!
We are seeking nominations from interested people who are committed to supporting girls and young women to reach their potential.
The Executive Committee is the governing body of Girl Guides Victoria and its role is to set the strategic direction, develop policy, approve the annual budget and oversee the governance of Girl Guides Victoria. The Committee has a similar function to that of a Board of Directors and its members are responsible for the fulfilment of duties and responsibilities similar to those of a director.
The Executive Committee is specifically seeking nominations from people with the following skills and experience:
- Not-for-profit governance
- Human resource management
- Property development
- Child safety or child advocacy
- Fundraising
Young women under 30 years of age are strongly encouraged to apply.
For enquiries and to receive the nomination form and position description, please contact Governance Chair Holly Bracken by email at holly.bracken@guidesvic.org.au.
The completed Nomination Form should be forwarded to the Returning Officer by 5pm on Friday 1st May 2020 by email at returningofficer@guidesvic.org.au.
