About the role

Based in Melbourne, this not-for-profit organisation brings evidence-based workshops around gender inequality into schools, sparking conversations designed to empower the next generation.

This is a great stepping stone for someone hoping to lead a NFP in the future and is keen to develop their skills in a supportive and inspiring environment in the coming year.

About the organisation

Organisation name : Chalk Circle - The Gender Literacy Foundation

Chalk Circle, as both an organisation name and concept, acknowledges that people often feel they have to operate as though a chalk line is drawn around them, restricting them to specific gender roles and responses. This chalk outline also references the serious and sometimes violent outcomes that can occur when resources are unequally distributed and gender roles are rigid (VicHealth, 2007).

Chalk Circle creates awareness around gender roles through education models and structures, seeking to erase barriers due to gender. We see an opportunity to erase the past of gender inequality, and draw a future in which all people, including those from traditionally marginalised demographics, have equal opportunity.
