About the role
Working closely with the Food Is Free Inc. Director, the Food Is Free Inc. Board Treasurer prepares monthly reporting, assists with grant acquittals, budgets, online accounting via Xero, and other financial tasks.
Our Board meets monthly online via Zoom (second Thursday of the month). Role can be remote, as it mostly a computer-based online role.
Previous financial reporting and accounting experience (ideally with not-for-profits) and prior Board/Committee experience. We need someone who is passionate, a self-starter, super organised, good with deadlines and a team player.
We are 100% volunteer led, and looking to employ staff soon, so experience with payroll would be very advantageous. We don’t have a physical office and all of our work is done online, so a high level of computer literacy is required.
About the organisation
Over 7 years Food Is Free Inc. have been growing food for the Ballarat community and assisting with food security education over two sites (Food Is Free Laneway) and Food Is Free Green Space.
We are a hard-working, but fun team of very welcoming humans and we can guarantee some laughs along the way. All of our volunteers (presently just over 67 in total) are highly valued, and receive free entry to our Green Space workshops.
