About the role

Permanent Care and Adoptive Families (PCA Families) delivers peer support, therapeutic programs and advocacy informed by strong lived experience and research. Funded through the Victorian Department of Human Services. The organisation offers a diverse range of services such as;
• Permanent Carer Helpline
• Flexible Funding Program
• Peer Support and Community Capacity Building
• Children and Youth Programs

Our Mission/Vision:
Every child deserves a family that loves and supports them. Trauma, grief, loss and attachment are issues all permanent care and adoptive families face. Our families are committed to helping their children thrive and so are we.

As the ‘go to’ organisation for the community, PCA Families delivers peer support, therapeutic programs and advocacy informed by strong lived experience and research.


Board of Director Role

We are seeking an experienced and committed person with a background working with NFP Boards or Committees around fundraising activities. You should have a passion for making a difference for families and children.
It is an exciting time for PCA Families, so we need someone who aligns strongly with our mission and is keen to join the journey.
This is a voluntary, unpaid position.

Current Board Size:10
Current Fundraising Committee Size: 3
Board Meetings: Every fourth Wednesday of the month (4pm till 6pm)
Fundraising Committee Meetings: On Sunday evenings (alternating between Melbourne CBD, Richmond and Coburg)

• Specific wins and experiences in fundraising activities for other NFPs
• Your knowledge and connections in the sector
• How you see your skills and experience contributing to PCA Families and our mission.

Suitable applicants will be interviewed by a panel of our current PCA Families Fundraising Committees. Lived experience of foster care/permanent care/kinship care or adoption would be desirable.
