Organisation : Birth for HumanKIND is a non-profit organisation based in Melbourne, Australia. We are a team of volunteer doulas, and our mission is to foster healthy families and communities by providing mother centred support, education and holistic care throughout pregnancy, birth and after the baby comes.
Location : Melbourne (Thornbury)
Time required : Board meetings every second month, additional meetings and events as necessary, hands on support on ad-hoc basis to management team.
Duration of project : Ongoing long term

About the role
An exciting opportunity exists to become a member of Birth For HumanKIND’s Board of Directors.
We are looking for a highly skilled, experienced, passionate lawyer and visionary leader to complete our board of six directors. You will play a vital role in advising, governing and leading the development of this vibrant organisation.
You have legal experience within the community sector and/or Maternal health or women’s health and wellbeing, particularly with CALD women, young women, and those experiencing social and economic disadvantage.
You also have extensive skills and experience in one or more of the following key areas:
• Non-profit development and management
• Business and social enterprise development and management
• You can demonstrate significant executive leadership accomplishments in the non-profit sector, business, government, or philanthropy.
