About the role
The Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA) is seeking to appoint an independent Director with legal experience to its Board. Preference will be given to those with experience in NFP governance and /or commercial or corporate partnerships.
ADEA is a not for profit organisation working with health professionals, government and the public to reduce the prevalence and impact of diabetes both in Australian and overseas.
The ADEA is committed to supporting its members’ efforts to provide evidence-based best practice diabetes education and care to people with or at risk of diabetes, their carers and families. Diabetes education empowers people with diabetes to effectively self-manage the care and treatment of their diabetes or pre-diabetes.
The Board is responsible for the overall strategic direction and works with management in setting strategies for the organisation.
The ADEA National Office is based in Canberra however our Directors are based in different states in Australia. Face-to-face Board meetings are conducted each quarter with additional teleconferences held as required. We are seeking an independent Director who is qualified in legal services. The term of appointment is 3 years, with the option of one further 3 year term.
