About the Role
In Tamil Nadu, one of the 29 states of India, our partner aims to transform the lives of the disadvantaged through using Kattaikuttu – a narrative theatre art form – as a medium to create self-respect, artistic delight and sustainable livelihoods.
Recently, the performing arts NGO has received income to establish an endowment fund and are seeking advice on creating a 5-year plan on their income and spending.
Your role will be exploring the best way of investing the money and will require scenario modelling to assess how much income they need to run the organisation over the five years, how much of this needs to be raised & how much income can be generated from the endowment fund. You will also be required to create a risk assessment for this model.
Please note: This organisation has a volunteer house where food and accommodation are provided free of cost.
Career benefits: This broad and wide-ranging assignment is a great opportunity for accountants thinking about a career move into the international development sector to get an extensive insight into the challenges of running an NGO in just a few weeks.
Tamil Nadu is the homeland of one of humanity’s living classical civilisations, stretching back uninterrupted for two millennia and very much alive today in the Tamils’ language, dance, poetry and Hindu religion.
