About the role

The International Programs Team is responsible for overseeing and implementing Oaktree’s Youth Solidarity Fund (OYSF). The fund supports projects from local, youth-led organisations and groups across the Asia Pacific through small grants and capacity-building support.

These projects are centered on enhancing youth leadership and advocacy to create positive social impact and inspire systemic change. The International Partnerships Manager provides support to the members of Oaktree’s Youth Solidarity Fund from across the Asia-Pacific as they implement their projects. You report directly to the Director of International Programs and work within Oaktree’s Impact Team.

 

As an International Partnerships Manager, a typical day might look like:

  • Supporting the implementation of Oaktree Youth Solidarity Fund including project & financial management, monitoring & evaluation and conducting the final summative review of partnerships; ● Communicating and relationship-building with Oaktree’s partners within the Solidarity Fund, using online tools such as WhatsApp, G Suite, Zoom, and/or Skype, and being flexible to what works best for partners;
  • Collaborating closely with Oaktree’s Solidarity Fund partners, assisting with their project implementation, establishing key areas of growth and facilitating capacity building support;
  • Preparing narrative and financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Contributing to the development of case studies and development sector research ● Communicating the work and impact of Oaktree’s partners under the Solidarity Fund to the wider organization;
  • Attending team meetings and one-on-one meetings
  • Working across projects in the Solidarity Fund and Impact portfolio;
  • Collaborating with other portfolios to increase Oaktree’s impact.

 

Who we are looking for:

  • Someone who is passionate about international development and the role of young people in social change
  • Has the ability to think of the big picture, isn’t afraid to challenge the status quo and take initiative
  • Has a strong understanding of international development theories, project management monitoring and evaluation tools and can apply them critically in practice
  • Has excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, with an emphasis on competency working cross-culturally and collaboratively
  • Experience in partnership management and cross-organisational collaboration is preferred
  • Has excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Able to self-motivate, thriving in both a team environment and autonomously.

Bonus points for:

● Overseas experience, particularly in locally led NGOs in the Asia-Pacific.

  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation, financial management, research and report writing relating to international development
