About the role
Kitchen Hand Volunteer – Food For My Life Program – McAuley House
McAuley Community Services for Women, is a ministry of the Institute of Sisters of Mercy of Australia and Papua New Guinea. We are committed to advocating for a better, safer and just society, through working with women and their children affected by family violence, mental illness or homelessness.
We have opportunities for volunteer kitchen hands to support the Food For My Life Facilitator. The positions are for 4 hours per week from 10.00 am to 2.00pm.
Ideally applicants will be able to demonstrate:
Experience as a kitchen hand in a commercial kitchen
Ability to work independently without constant supervision
Knowledge of safe food handling and OHS issues as they relate to a commercial kitchen
High level interpersonal communication skills.
A National Name check and a Working with Children Check are required prior to commencement. Successful applicants will also be required to complete an online food safety course.
