About the role
Key responsibility:
To work with the CEO and executive team to manage Empowered Together’s risk and legal compliance.
Duties:
Review Empowered Together’s policies, ensuring they are in line with current laws
Revise Workshop Contracts when required
Research into legal changes in sexual assault, consent, child protection and other relevant topics
Produce Legal memorandums at the CEO’s request on a range of laws which may impact Empowered Together
Deliver mandatory sexual violence training when onboarding new volunteers
Work closely with the executive team to provide strategic advice as the organisation grows
Help maintain Empowered Together’s compliance checklist.
Take the role of the organisation’s secretary during governance meetings (e.g. AGM, SGM etc).
Skills required:
We are looking for someone who:
Is deeply passionate about the primary prevention of sexual assault
Is currently studying (second year or above) or has completed a degree in law (legal experience itself is not required) or equivalent knowledge
Is motivated, independent and can complete projects with minimal supervision
Has excellent oral and written communication skills
Is diligent, self-motivated and organised
Works well both independently and within a team
Time commitment:
