About the role

WayAhead is seeking suitable judges for our small grants program and the Mental Health Matters Awards.
The small grants are designed to help groups and organisations put on events and programs for Mental Health Month. Adjudicators assess applications within a set time-frame (during July) and collaboratively decide on successful applications.
The Mental Health Matters Awards are NSW’s premiere event honouring excellence in mental health. The awards celebrate the incredible and tireless work being done to break down stigma, increase awareness, and enhance the lives of people facing mental health issues.
You will have the opportunity to review applications representing an incredible variety of Mental Health Programs and Initiatives.

We acknowledge community members as having expert knowledge essential to effective mental health promotion, and that effective health promotion can only happen when communities are involved in all stages of the process.

Applicants must fulfil at least one of the following requirements:

– Experience working in Mental Health or related field

– Experience working with identified communities (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, CALD, Youth, LGBTIQA+), or experience with other high-needs communities (rural, regional, remote; people with lived experience of mental illness)

– Preference is given to people who are members of these communities (including people with lived experience of mental ill-health and their families/supports)

Applicant questions:
– Please detail your relevant experience:
– Please indicate why you are interested in being part of this process?
– Which groups do you have experience with (lived experience is a valid and appropriate source of expertise)

Please send a short document responding to these questions along with your CV to apply.
