Pro Bono Accountant @ Inspiring Youth Education Charity, 2 months

Unique opportunity for outgoing accountant (CPA – or equivalent) to gain international experience with this inspiring youth project for 2 months in the Philippines.

Based in the popular tourist area of Puerto Galera in the Philippines, our partner plays a large role in raising awareness about and addressing taboo issues such as child sex abuse and exploitation.  The organisation provides a shelter rehabilitation programme for street children and offer scholarships to local children to encourage them to attend school and recently started an environmental awareness programme. The organisation has also developed training materials to build the capacity of local law enforcers, social workers and advocates.

For the past few years, they have been in an almost constant process of expansion and now there is an urgent need to strategise on the best possible framework for their financial management system.  You will be working with the Director and his team, providing support to help them review and evaluate their current financial systems and assess what needs to be outsourced and what can be done in-house based on their set up, aims, resources and skills.  Based on your evaluations, you will help design a system that is solid, cost efficient and with all necessary checks and balances built in.

This voluntary assignment is a unique opportunity to apply your professional skills in an international development setting, significantly contribute to the support and development of local staff and have a lasting impact.
