About the role

The Alfred Foundation, which enables the community to support the work of The Alfred, Sandringham and Caulfield Hospitals, is thrilled to once again be selected as the preferred charity for Melbourne Racing Club’s 2017 Spring Carnival – Pin & Win Promotion. We are looking for volunteers to help us raise much needed funds.

What is the Pin & Win promotion and who does it help?
The Alfred Foundation has exclusive rights to sell the Carnival lapel pin ($5) with all proceeds going to the Caulfield Hydrotherapy Centre redevelopment. The centre is a vital component of helping many patients return to the life they had previously as well as a much used community resource. The upgrade will further develop the Hydrotherapy services that support our local community as well as people from right around the state.

We need your help.
The Spring Carnival is an exciting time of the year. This is your chance to be part of the Melbourne Racing Club festivities, while at the same time helping the Alfred Foundation raise much needed funds. We are looking for volunteers to support the Foundation by volunteering, 4 hours of their time to help sell the pins at any of the race days listed below. It is a fantastic day and at the end of your shift, you can stay and enjoy all the excitement the races have to offer.

What is included?
Volunteers will receive a uniform and a delicious lunch and drinks will be provided along with entry into the course for the remainder of the day.

What training do I need?
There is no formal training required but a full briefing will take place on the day. You just need to come prepared to dedicate the time to sell as many pins as possible.

What are the dates & times?
Shifts will be confirmed approximately one week before, once race times are advised by the Melbourne Racing Club, but generally the shifts are 10.30/11am – 1.30/2pm.
