Playgroup Coordinator (Volunteer position)
The Playgroup Coordinator will work autonomously to coordinate and run a new playgroup with a multi-cultural family focus. In this position, you would be responsible for supporting the parents and children attending this additional playgroup in line with the vision of Picabeen. Ideally, previous experience with young children between the ages of 0-5 would be advantageous, as well as experience working with people of different backgrounds and cultures. As a volunteer working with children, it is essential to hold a Blue Card or be able to obtain before commencing.

Picabeen Community Centre

For over 24 years Picabeen Community Association Inc. has been serving the community in various capacities and today Picabeen is a multi service hub that promotes social cohesion and community engagement. Picabeen is the only community or neighbourhood centre in the North West Brisbane Corridor and provides a range of services including a space for families to enjoy a relaxed morning at play group, supporting young people at risk, case management for young people, supporting families with kitchen pantry items, increasing opportunities for seniors to remain connected, providing creative arts projects, strengthening community engagement, and offering school activities for local school-aged children at either low or no cost.

The Volunteer Playgroup Coordinator must:
o It is an essential requirement to hold a current blue card or be able to obtain
o Be able to work as part of a team
o Respect the principles of inclusion and respect
o Have highly developed communication skills
o Be able to work independently
o Committed to the vision, strategic aims and purpose of Picabeen
o A positive attitude
