About the role
Short-term help. We are looking for an accountant skilled in Australian not-for-profit organisation accounting to volunteer pro bono for around four months. Up to 15 hours a month. This role does not include any data entry or bookkeeping as we have bookkeeping volunteers. Ready for an immediate start within 1 to 2 weeks of application.
This role includes:
- Providing some advice and assisting us with some questions and queries we have that arise from time to time.
- Reviewing and advising on the chart of accounts and not-for-profit organisation accounting.
- GST related review of some data.
- Providing recommendations to management for improvements.
- Training and guidance via group phone calls to develop knowledge and skills of some volunteers.
Essential requirements:
- Registered accountant and member of CPA Australia.
- Several years of accounting experience in a paid role in an Australian not-for-profit or charity is essential, and/or working with not-for-profit organisation clients in a hands on or advisory role.
- Knowledge of not-for-profit organisation accounting, grants, donations, fundraising, GST, and associated ATO requirements.
