About the role

Public Fund Committee Members

Scouts NSW is seeking to appoint five (5) passionate and experienced committee members, to the Public Fund Committee, one (1) of which being an under 30 years of age position.

Reporting to the Scouts NSW Board of Directors, the Public Fund Committee is responsible for, but not limited to, providing advice to the Scouts NSW Board on the management of gifts, donations, and bequest matters, consistent with the Scouts NSW Constitution, Section 20 Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) Status.

Candidates must be aged 18 years or older, hold a current Working With Children Check and consent to a police check and background checks. Candidates do not need to be a current member of Scouts NSW.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Knowledge and experience (or working towards qualifications) in accounting, finance, economics, public administration, governance, and grants administration (or similar).
  • Ability to review and form opinions on financial and governance matters affecting the organisation.
  • Available to attend quarterly committee meetings (either in person or by video conference).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Commitment to putting time and effort into the role.

The role of the Public Fund Committee Member is an honorary 3 year appointment. Committee members may be required to attend additional meetings as deemed necessary or assist on working groups as required.
