About the role
Unique opportunity for accountant (CPA – or equivalent) to gain international experience & build financial management capacity of this Rwandan Health University for 3-6 months.
Based in the luscious hills of Butaaro, our partner is a health sciences university, established to educate and train healthcare professionals and provide healthcare & health services to the poor and those living in rural/remote environments. They are seeking a volunteer to help them strengthen their accounting & management systems.
They have started procuring a number of goods to outfit their new campus in Rwanda. This is the first time they will be overseeing management and upkeep of facilities, and want to ensure that from the onset this is done well.
Your Role
Your role will be initially to support them on the procurement, ensuring that the goods received and construction expenses are classified and entered correctly; and that they are capitalised and assigned a depreciation schedule in accordance with IFRS. In addition, the Director of Finance would like support in strengthening their accounting & financial management systems and responding to audit requests for improvements.
This broad and wide-ranging assignment is a great opportunity for accountants thinking about a career move to the international development sector to get an extensive insight in just a couple of months.
