About the role

Do you have skills and experience in the world of business and sales, yet are yearning to contribute to something worthwhile? Are you keen to join a growing movement aimed at empowering communities to take control of their energy and ease our impact on this beautiful planet?
We are an awesome team working towards bringing renewable energy to your very own city, looking for more driven volunteers.

We are currently seeking individuals to help reach out to community groups and prospective host sites to continue putting solar on as many roofs in Sydney as possible!!!
Pingala has a vision of a fairer energy system, where communities are empowered to collectively own and operate local renewable energy projects; re-localising business and sharing the benefits + opportunities of our transition to renewable energy.

Pingala recently completed their first project on the roof of Young Henrys craft brewery in the Inner West suburb of Newtown in Sydney. The Pingala Co-operative sold all the shares issued for funding the project in just nine minutes and achieved several firsts; in the process: the first operating community solar co-operative with investors; the first community solar lease; the first equity crowdfunded community solar project. Concurrently, Pingala has been working with three remote Aboriginal communities in north-west NSW on energy independence and affordability, plus their visions of increasing self-sufficiency and community resilience.

Tasks include:
Collaborating with the host site team to effectively communicate Pingala’s goals and mission to a range of audiences
Brainstorming new creative concepts and designs
Preparing rough drafts of material to present to the team

Essential skills/qualifications:
Creative flair, originality and a strong visual sense
Strong computer skills
Confidence, to present and explain ideas
Effective time management skills
Ability to generate and build productive long lasting relationships
High attention to detail
Good teamwork and communication skills
Ability to show initiative and commitment
Flexibility
Desirable:
A passion for clean green energy generation and community empowerment!

Team: Host Site Team
Pingala is a diverse, inclusive and non-hierarchical group of people who are highly motivated and inspired to make projects happen. If you think this role is for you, and you wish to improve your skills, deepen your understanding of the not for profit sector and develop professionally, then consider this opportunity.
