About the Role
WADAC (Women’s Alcohol & Drug Advisory Centre) Inc. t/a Jarrah House is a women’s only drug and alcohol residential detox and rehabilitation service. It is the only one of its kind in NSW and is recognised by the United Nations for the wonderful work we do in helping women and women with children regain their lives from drug or alcohol addiction.
Jarrah House opened its doors in 1987 and is a service that is run by women for women. Jarrah House is highly respected in the drug and alcohol sector. Our board (WADAC) is made up of a group of varied and highly skilled women who volunteer their time and skills because some have a personal connection with our service, they may have had a family member or friend go through a drug or alcohol addiction and for this reason they are passionate about wanting to help make a difference in the lives of women who are experiencing similar issues, others are passionate about women’s health.
As we are an NFP charity organisation we are reliant on Government funding and also the goodwill of volunteers.
