About the role

Marist 180 has partnered with Salvation Army Youth & Family Services in St Kilda with a shared commitment to working with young people and members of our local communities in the ongoing development and expansion of our ‘Seedwell’ Garden Projects.

As a volunteer you will assist staff to undertake a variety of tasks, depending on the priorities and emerging opportunities (as well as your strengths) these might include:
– Watering gardens
– Turning and spreading compost
– Packaging seeds
– Propagating and planting seeds/seedlings and plants
– Working at ‘Seedwell’ Markets
– Fertilising gardens
– Picking up supplies
– Communicating with the public about the project
– Working with young people
– Marketing for ‘Seedwell’
– Building garden beds
– Harvesting and storing crops
– Running market stalls
