About the role
About us
safe steps Family Violence Response Centre is the state-wide 24/7 service for women and children experiencing violence providing immediate support, information, advocacy, referral and emergency accommodation. safe steps is the central point of contact for the specialist family violence service system across Victoria. safe steps has recently been awarded a contract to deliver 1800RESPECT crisis support in Victoria. This is an extension to the role safe steps has played in supporting women and their children and is a strategic focus of the board.
This is an outstanding opportunity to make a real difference at the centre of the biggest changes in the family violence sector in Australia’s history. safe steps is a feminist organisation that is committed to supporting women and children experiencing family violence and working with others to eliminate family violence in our community.
safe steps is governed by a constitution and Board of Directors: The Board elects the Chair and meets monthly to set the strategic direction and policy parameters for the organisation and its work.
We are currently seeking expressions of interest from a suitably skilled, experienced and passionate person to serve on the Board.
