About the role
Reporting to the Chair, the Treasurer will be an active member of a small, professional team.
As Treasurer you will have oversight of the organisation’s financial management and be responsible for daily administration of the organisation’s finances including record keeping, planning and budgeting, monitoring and reporting.
As a non-Executive Director, you will also contribute to the development of sound policies and innovative stakeholder engagement strategies to ensure funds invested in ME/CFS research are directed to achieve the best possible patient outcomes.
This is an unpaid volunteer position requiring a minimum commitment of around 10-15 hours per month for a minimum term of two years.
If you have solid financial skills, a strong interest in stakeholder and government relations, and a passion for medical research that delivers real patient value, we would love to hear from you.
About the organisation
ME/CFS (Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome) is an insidious disease that destroys lives and is estimated to cost the Australian community billions of dollars each year. Until recently, there has been no known cause, no reliable diagnosis and no approved clinical treatment pathways. Australia is leading the world in clinical and scientific investigation and establishing the governance and advocacy frameworks to build strong mutual ties between patients and researchers. https://naac-mecfs.org/
The National Advisory Advocacy Council for ME/CFS Research is a peak body founded in Queensland in 2019. We are changing our organisational structure to a charitable company limited by guarantee, and are seeking a suitably-qualified Treasurer to join our Board.
